    Another year, another round of celebrity splits. We’re dissecting all of the celebrity splits of 2021 and determining what had happened and why did the romance fizzled.

    Lindsey Buckingham’s great love is for his wife of more than two decades, Kristen Messner, who filed for divorce in Los Angeles in June 2021. The pair married in 2000 and have a combined total of three children over the age of 17.

    Maya Henry and Liam Payne

    In June, Liam Payne announced that he and fiancée Maya Henry had ended their engagement, with the singer blaming himself for the breakup.

    “At this moment, more than anything, I’m disappointed in myself for continuing to harm people,” the former One Direction star said on the podcast “Diary of a CEO.” “That irritates me. I’ve always struggled with relationships. And I am aware of my pattern, the state of affairs is with relationships at the moment.”

    Payne and the model got engaged in 2020, after dating for approximately two years.

    Underwood, Blair, and DaCosta, Desiree

    Blair Underwood and Desiree DaCosta announced their separation in May after 27 years of marriage. “After a great deal of reflection, prayer, and effort on ourselves individually, we have jointly decided to terminate our 27-year marriage,” the pair said in a joint statement. “It has been an absolutely wonderful journey.”

    Paris, Blake, and Brielle are the couple’s three children.

    Safaree Samuels and Erica Mena

    Erica Mena filed for divorce from Sarafee Samuels in May, less than two years after they married. While pregnant with their second kid, the “Love & Hop Hop” actress filed for divorce in Fayette County Superior Court in Georgia, requesting primary physical custody of their children.

    In September 2020, the “Dancing With The Stars” judge announced they were dating. The ex-couples met while walking their dogs.

    Wendy Williams and Mike Esterman ended their brief relationship despite never making it official. “She deserves to be with someone who has more time than she does,” Esterman told Page Six of

    Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, who became engaged in 2019, called it quits after four years together, Page Six exclusively reported in March.     The couple, who share four children, had a difficult year in the public spotlight last year as a result of West’s unsuccessful presidential campaign and his continuing struggle with bipolar illness. Despite many attempts to make things work on family vacations, the celebrity couple finally chose to part ways.
